At Garage 786 we take rolling road tuning seriously. We are the proud owners of one of the world's finest 2wd Chassis dynamometers - Dyno Dynamics. Our state of the art 450 series 2wd dyno has the potential to measure and accurately graph a massive 1200 HP and 1600 lbs/ft of torque! Not only is the dyno capable of measuring massive power it is also regarded as the the most accurate chassis dyno available.

Due to the supreme accuracy of the Dyno Dynamics rolling road, BHP & Torque measurements can repeatability be made to an accuracy of 0.1 BHP and 0.1 Ft/Lb.

Dyno Dynamics rolling roads feature an electromagnetic retarder (Eddy current) that allows a precise load to be applied to the rollers and hence the car under test. This load can be used at steady speed as well as during acceleration. The load can be easily varied to simulate any road or track condition. For example, The dyno allows us to hold a vehicle at say 50% throttle and 3,500 RPM while optimizing the air to fuel ratio or timing. Using this extremely controlled environment we can achieve a properly tuned vehicle for part throttle driveability as well as maximum performance at full throttle !

All Dyno Dynamics Rolling roads have some unique features that give them a distinct advantage against other Dynamometers, such as their square cut knurl Roller surface and the Heavy duty traction control system that allows High powered cars to be measured with no wheel slip for superior accuracy and repeatability. Dyno Dynamics is an Australian company founded in 1969, who manufacture chassis and engine dynamometers for a vast amount of applications from comerical to Military. The Garage 786 Dynamometer is complemented with a wide range of integral high speed Data Aquistion equipment. This equipment enables us to real time monitor and record important engine operating parameters and conditions. This acts as a powerfull tuning and Diagnostic aid for vehicles that need a range of information to be seen simultaneously on one operating screen during Dyno sessions. The dyno has the capacity to measure and graph the power, torque, boost pressure and air fuel ratio outputs of your engine, we can also print out these as colour documents for you to keep and study.


Chances are, many of you from around the automotive industry have already heard of the ShootOut system when dyno tuning cars. Dyno Dynamics, the manufacturer of Australia's leading dynamometer brand, has for many years been considered the benchmark for both accuracy and repeatability. Now, after 4 years of effort (not to mention a substantial financial investment), they have just 'upped the stakes' - Dyno Dynamics has developed a system that is set to become the industry standard for power comparison.

The ShootOut mode system is not just a hardware or software upgrade - it is a standardised approach to power measurement, designed to ensure that you can take your car to any accredited workshop and get accurate power measurements for your car. The results will be the same regardless of which ShootOut mode accredited workshop you select. This also means that results from different cars, measured on different dynos can be compared much more accurately which opens a lot of insight to power readings.

ShootOut was developed by Dyno Dynamics primarily to eliminate "Operator Technique" and as a tool for measuring horsepower accurately and CONSISTENTLY for ALL Dyno Dynamics dynos with Shootout accreditation. All dynos with Shootout accreditation have been calibrated the same accross the board, and should not vary more than 1% when comparing between Dyno Dynamics dynos.

Our dyno is available for club rolling road days, individual bookings, engine testing, speedometer calibration, fault diagnostics and top speed runs.
